Researching Wiki's and using them # 16

Personally I find information is relative to who does the editing. Many school history books can be (and have been wrong). so Wiki's can be correct in information or wrong. Wikipedia was considered so BAD when first started; but being the leaders in wiki ing they showed that a wiki can work; and slowly lead everyone else to the pros of working it.

I can see how great this would have been for 4H when I worked it a few years back. We tried building a website and let everybody add to it; but we failed. A wiki would allow us to know the changing dates. locals, etc.

I have noted that a lot of sites go back to Meredith Farkas, this could be considered 'a false expert' on this subject; only because of the return links. This is the negative side of the Web.
If someones site is quoted enough it can be consider 'gospel' and this is the falicy of knowledge.

Col Arthur J. L Fremantle, with the Southern side as ' the eyes and ears of Queen Victoria' wonderful perspective of the southern side; and he continued to welcome southerns in England for years to come.

This was my son's first published book. In working with him I learned the ins and outs of self publishing, writing, and rewriting, and rewriting; but the reward of working with him has been 'priceless'. Interested visit amazon.com for a copy of this book
